Afflicted but Not Defeated | VX Art Tournament 2021

My submission for the 2021 VX Art tournament hosted by Comic Con Africa. This year's theme was 'Resilience', with the tag line "The Strength to create is worth defending".

My concept depicts an artist afflicted by anxiety, and poverty, but not allowing that to crush her, as she pushes through resiliently.
For the idea of the building cross-section, I took inspiration from the artwork of DeadLight by TequilaWorks.
